Alignment
October 27, 2009
Alignment is making sure that your world lines up with your values and callings. This includes your environment, your relationships, your conversations, your commitments, and your accountabilities. It takes saying “yes” to the things that call you to be that person you admire and “no” to the things that distract you from fully being your best self.
Here’s a suggested alignment practice this month:
- Connect with your values.
- Do one thing every week that “straightens up” your life in relationship to your values. Consider:
- Straighten up a physical space
- Say “yes” to a commitment (or relationship) that calls you to act in line with your values
- Say “no” to a commitment (or relationship) that pulls you away from living your values. This is not selfish. It’s courageous!
- Notice all the times when your values are present in your life. Be present, grateful, and happy in those moments.
