We Are Each Making History

by Betsy Sobiech

It’s clear that today history is being made. The inauguration of a president is always historical, recorded, documented, and revered. Today’s inauguration seems even more historically significant as Barack Obama takes office and his family moves into the White House.

Consider that every day, everything action we take has equal significance on the future of our planet as a presidential inauguration. There might automatically be resistance to that idea, either because of our trained reaction to compare, rank, and judge everything. Or the resistance might come from not wanting that kind of personal responsibility for my own actions. The resistance to the idea is normal but stick with it.

What if what we do today has as great of an impact on the future of the planet as the Inauguration Ceremony? Or any action taken by an official world leader?
